Hi friends,
It has been a busy week for us. Lots of fun things in the works as we head into Spring. I know we’ve been a little vague with these intros the last two weeks, but that’s just how we are rolling until we are ready to share more. Someone’s gotta keep the mystery alive. Lots to sip on. Let’s get into it.
As always, my inbox is open!

This Week in Bar & Restaurant Buzz
Marlow & Sons Closes (Williamsburg)
After 20 years, one of Brooklyn’s OG farm-to-table restaurants is shutting its doors. Marlow & Sons helped define the neighborhood’s dining scene — and launched careers for chefs across the country. Its oyster bar, handwritten menus, and moody lighting will be missed.

Fedora Reopens (West Village)
Fedora has officially returned after a four-year hiatus. The historic spot on West 4th Street, once a go-to for martinis and meatballs, has been revived with the original team behind Joseph Leonard, Jeffery’s Grocery, and Fairfax. The food is still familiar (yes, the burger’s back) but polished. It’s one of those places you walk into and immediately feel cooler.

The Italian-inspired cocktail bar sits atop the Conrad New York Downtown and is created in collaboration with Ariel Arce (Tokyo Record Bar, Roscioli). The drinks channel Italy’s greatest hits — think negronis, spritzes, and bitter aperitifs — while the vibe is full Amalfi fantasy, thanks to design from Islyn Studio and lemon trees galore. Catch us there at golden hour.

Recession Cocktails are Back
According to Grub Street, there’s a growing wave of NYC cocktail bars offering well-made drinks at sane prices. Favorites include Bar Americano in Greenpoint, All Night Skate in Bed-Stuy, and High Low in Alphabet City — where the vibe is relaxed and the drinks don’t require a small loan.

Ding Dong of the Week
A proposed tariff hike on European olive oil and wine could make your next restaurant bill even higher. The kicker? It’s aimed at punishing EU digital taxes on American tech giants. The wine industry — and diners — are caught in drama. Are you sick of winning yet??
