The Weekly Pour — Square Slices, Soft Launches, and a Big Night in Greenpoint
Issue 12: Dispatches from the road
If you like this newsletter, it would mean the world to me if you could hit the ❤ button. It helps more people discover us.
Hi friends,
We are a day behind with this issue as I was in Boston all weekend for the Big Queer Food Fest. We tasted people on our Fire Island Dry Gin which was a blast, although my body is feeling it today, it was a lot of standing and pouring.
If you’d like to try it, we are offering FREE SHIPPING on orders over $100.
We also visited Spoke Wine Bar, and had one of the tastiest martinis in all of Boston (video proof above).
Ok, now on with the newsletter. Spring is here, let’s get out into the world. See you at the bar.
As always, my inbox is open.
x Tom

Impasto (Park Slope)
Clinton Hill’s Impasto is expanding into Park Slope with the same Roman-style square pizza that made it a hit. This is not your average slice — it’s a chewy, olive oil-kissed slab of Pizza al Taglio perfection. More Info
Best New Restaurants: May Edition
Grub Street dropped their May heatmap and we pulled our favorites:
Dubuhaus (Midtown) — High-end tofu everything. Seaweed soondubu with oysters is the standout.
El Camino (East Village) — Summer interns take note: the best cheap date spot with killer negronis and pork sandwiches.
Cafe Zaffri (Union Square) — It’s inside a private club, but anyone can get in. Order the lamb Wellington.
Hakata TonTon (Chinatown) — Nose-to-tail pork, gyoza in cast iron, and yuzu-kosho-laced hot pot.
Fedora (West Village) — Reopened and better than ever. Go for the sweetbreads, stay for the Coronation cocktail.
NYC Classics Spotlight: Raoul’s (SoHo)
A prince of old-school cool and steak frites. Raoul’s has been slinging Parisian swagger since the ‘70s and it’s still the kind of place where you sit elbow to elbow with people who dress better than you and order the burger off-menu like they invented it. Zero notes needed, Raoul’s is forever. More Info
Cool Happenings
Big Night Greenpoint Reopening
New bar. New mural. New vibes. Big Night's Greenpoint location just got a massive glow-up — with a dreamy dinner mural and a custom-designed bar. Perfect spot to pretend you’re “just shopping” while sipping something chilled. More Info
Cocktail of the Week: Kelp Me
A fresh, herbaceous martini riff that highlights the wild kelp and citrus botanicals in Fire Island Gin.
0.5 oz Dry Vermouth
0.25 oz Pickled kelp brine (or substitute with olive brine)
1 dash Celery bitters
Stir with ice and strain into a chilled coupe.
Garnish with a thin strip of cucumber or a ribbon of kelp if you’re feeling extra.
What I’m Listening To
Robyn – “Ever Again”
A shimmering, emotional banger with a message of post-heartbreak confidence and Robyn’s signature synth-laced joy.
Italian Disco Classic: Kano – “I’m Ready” (1980)
An electrifying Italo-disco track that helped define the genre—full of synths, attitude, and dancefloor energy. Still sounds futuristic today.

Your Supergay vodka is amazing - the smoothest taste and mouthfeel. It was recommended to me by a clerk at the Paul Brady Wine Bar in Beacon. It’s not available in Ohio liquor stores, so I’ve had to ration until a return visit and I look forward to the gin.
